SCOTLAND’S first ever wakeboarding park has toasted reaching a major milestone.

Foxlake Adventures, between West Barns and East Linton, opened in 2012.

Since then, it has tripled in size to include the UK’s first above-water ropes assault course, FoxFall, Ringo Rides, segways and Ziptrails.

The award-winning five-star VisitScotland outdoor adventure hub recorded its busiest ever summer in 2021, despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since its launch, Foxlake has welcomed more than 500,000 visitors and created more than 200 local full and part-time jobs, with many of their first employees still on board.

James Barbour, director of Foxlake Adventures, was one of the team behind the initial idea for the activity hub.

He said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating our 10th anniversary this year. Thanks to everyone who has supported us along the way and the great team we have on board – many of them who have been with us since the very start of our journey.

“We thought the best way for us to celebrate is by hosting a range of action-packed activities throughout the summer, which we’re hoping people will come along to and help us to mark this fantastic milestone.”

Foxlake has twice won the Scottish Thistle Award for Best Outdoor/Adventure Experience.
