NORTH Berwick Trust is celebrating a £1 million milestone.
The ‘forever fund’ was set up in 2018 to boost town organisations, charities or individuals in need.
Since then, it has backed 143 community projects, providing £1,056,295 of support.
In the most recent grants round, the trust awarded £86,964.50 to 17 projects.
The next opportunity to apply for a grant will be from mid-September.
The trust, meanwhile, has launched a Youth Scholarship Programme in connection with North Berwick High School and North Berwick Youth Project.
It will provide up to £10,000 of funding for three applicants each year to help them advance their life and career in a positive direction.
Applications – from those aged 16-25 – are now welcome, with funding prioritised to those who cannot afford to achieve their ambitions without support.
