DRIVERS in East Lothian will face diversions when resurfacing works on the A1 get underway next month.
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will implement a road closure with a signed diversion when the works take place between July 11 and 15.
Northbound traffic will be diverted off the A1 at Thistly Cross Roundabout and follow the A199 before rejoining at Abbotsview Junction.
The diversion will add approximately 0.1 miles and 3 minutes to affected journeys.
Emergency services will be given access through the works at all times and local access for residents within the closure points will be maintained when it is safe to pass through the work area.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve the road quality and safety for motorists on this section of the A1.
“Road closures are essential for safety, however we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise any disruption.
"We thank motorists in advance for their patience.”
