A Musselburgh singer/songwriter is set to join an all-star line-up at the three-day TRNSMT festival on Glasgow Green in July.

Callum Beattie will join musicians on King Tut’s Stage on the now-sold-out first day of Friday, July 8.

Callum said: “I’ve been dreaming about playing on these stages since I was a wee boy so playing at TRNSMT is literally a dream come true for me.

“It’s shaping up to be a massive year, as my second album will also be released in September.”

His second album, Vandals, follows on from People Like Us.

Callum will also appear at the Out East Festival at Dalkeith Country Park in August, joining headliners The Kooks and Ministry of Sound Classical.

He played a special set ahead of Scotland’s first Autumn Nations Series rugby match against Tonga at Murrayfield in October last year; has had a sold-out Scottish tour; and supported fellow Scottish musician Amy Macdonald on her UK tour, including a show at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.

TRNSMT is presented by used car dealer cinch.
