A MUSSELBURGH resident has been cleared of alleged driving offences.
Michael Arpino, of Delta Crescent, was alleged to have driven a vehicle while disqualified and with no insurance on Macbeth Moir Road, Musselburgh, on April 22, 2020.
Arpino, 60, denied the allegations and stood trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday.
But following two witnesses giving their evidence to the court, the fiscal depute informed Sheriff Chris Dickson that the Crown was no longer seeking a conviction in the case.
Sheriff Dickson told Arpino he was being acquitted on both charges and was free to leave the dock.
Arpino was found not guilty of driving a vehicle while disqualified and without insurance at Macbeth Moir Road, Musselburgh, on April 22, 2020.
