A PORT Seton man is to stand trial later this year accused of tampering with a urine sample given to the police following an alleged road traffic incident.

Robert Baxter is alleged to have failed to give officers a specimen of urine in June 2020.

Baxter, 75, is then alleged to have tampered with a urine sample by allegedly pouring water into it at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary later the same day.

Prosecutors claim that Baxter attempted to dilute the urine sample at the Capital hospital in an attempt to pervert the course of justice.

Baxter, of Wemyss Place, pleaded not guilty to the two offences when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last week.

The case was continued to June 15.

Baxter pleaded not guilty to failing to give police officers a urine sample and to then tampering with the sample at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary on June 16, 2020.
