Alister Hadden had the honour of throwing the first jack to officially open the refurbished bowling green at Wallyford Miners Welfare and Bowling Club for the 2022 season.
Mr Hadden, a club member, was delighted to be asked to get the new season under way at the green, which is situated in front of the club, just off Salters Road.
Twenty bowlers played at the event on Sunday and buffet was enjoyed in the club’s lounge.
Match secretaries Tom Cornish and Robert Steel gave an update on forthcoming games and wished all the teams from the club an “enjoyable and successful” season ahead.
