A CAMPING site has kindly donated a voucher to Prestongrange Museum after a floral arrangement in its garden was stolen earlier this month.

On March 2, museum gardening volunteer Ronnie planted a number of bright flowers in the gardens of the museum; however, just a day later, the plants were uprooted and stolen.

The theft “deeply saddened” staff at the museum.

Shortly thereafter, members of the community came out in their numbers to offer donations and volunteer time to replant flowers.

Additionally, Drummohr Camping & Glamping Site, located south of the museum, donated a £100 voucher to be put towards new flowers.

A museum spokesperson said: “We paid Angie at Drummohr a sunny visit to pick up the voucher and can’t thank her and the team enough for their generosity.

“We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who offered their support about our stolen flowers.

“We’re very lucky to have such a strong community around us.

“It was really heartening to see how many appreciated all the work and time our gardening volunteers put into keeping Prestongrange beautiful.”

The spokesperson added: “We are hoping to do more planting once we reopen in spring and can’t wait for everyone to be involved.

“Once again, we feel so grateful too have such a lovely community around us.”
