Scottish football legend Jackie McNamara will appear in Musselburgh next week on a book signing tour of the country.

'His Name is McNamara' is the story of his success and survival - both on and off the pitch.

The events being staged at venues across Scotland, England and Ireland will be 'an audience with' - enabling fans to take part in Q&A sessions.

Jackie said: "I was incredibly lucky to play in what I consider to be a golden era. The decade of success and many a trophy at Celtic - including my time as club captain - through my international career and time in club management."

The book covers his dramatic departure from Celtic in 2005 as well as his subsequent spells with Wolves, Aberdeen, Falkirk and Partick Thistle before moving on to his role as manager at Thistle, then Dundee United before his time with York City.

Page after page, Jackie pulls no punches.

He added: "I hope my book gives readers the inside track, not just on the undeniable fun of playing football at the highest level but also the battling qualities you need to succeed."

And it was on those qualities that Jackie drew when most needed ... when his life was threatened by a brain aneurysm in early 2020. More than a year on, he’s telling his story and sharing it face to face with football fans.

He will be at the Ravelston House Hotel tomorrow, Thursday, March 3, at 7pm after postponement of the original date of December 16, 2021, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tickets are available via the website www.hisnameismcnamara.co.uk or in person from spectacles outlet at Inveresk Industrial Estate.
