A burst water main in West Barns has caused flooding, leaving some residents concerned for their properties.
Some have used sandbags to protect their homes from the water.
The problem has been ongoing since January 15 when locals noticed water seeping through the tarmac on Edinburgh Road in alarming fashion.
The same section of road had been recently repaired as part of ongoing works to a pipe that connected to the mains.
The works have worsened the situation with water flowing down Sea Road into gardens.
A Scottish Water Spokesperson said: “Scottish Water first attended reports of a leak on Edinburgh Road, West Barns last week.
“Our engineers carried out an excavation but were unable to repair the leak. There is a faulty valve which needs to be replaced and special fittings are required as the affected section is on a bend.
“Due to the location of the burst, four way traffic lights are needed to carry out the repair safely.
“Unfortunately, we could not shut off the water as this would impact on customer supplies.
“A permanent repair has been scheduled for tonight (Tuesday January 25).”
