BUDDING young footballers have covered more than 200 miles to help raise funds for a potentially life-saving device.
Pencaitland Youth Football Club, along with the village’s bowling club, collected money for a defibrillator when they took part in a sponsored walk round the village’s park before Christmas.
A total of 204 miles were covered by the footballers, their parents and coaches, with more than £1,000 raised.
Donations were also collected for the local foodbank.
The defibrillator will be sited at Pencaitland Bowling Club for use by members of the public in an emergency.
