CASES of Covid-19 in East Lothian are on the decline following a recent surge of the virus in the county.
East Lothian had 420 cases of Covid-19 between November 21 and 27, giving a seven-day positive rate per 100,000 people of 389.2.
The previous week (November 14 to 20), 520 cases were recorded producing a seven-day positive rate per 100,000 people of 481.9.
East Lothian has the sixth highest Covid rate in Scotland, with Falkirk continuing to stay at the top with a seven-day positive rate per 100,000 people of 574.2.
Neighbouring City of Edinburgh (308.6) and Midlothian Council (299.5) both have seven-day rates per 100,000 people significantly lower than East Lothian’s.
In the county, Haddington North recorded the most cases in the last seven days (38), giving it a seven-day rate of 862.9.
Meanwhile, the vast majority of East Lothian residents have now received both doses of a coronavirus vaccine.
83,231 people over the age of 18 have received their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine.
This equals 96.8 per cent of the population.
A total of 80,182 people have received their second dose, or 93.3 per cent of the population.
And 34,364 residents or 40 per cent have received a third dose or booster coronavirus vaccine.
