EMERGENCY services have been called to a popular county beauty spot following reports of a car on fire.

Police and fire services are at Longniddry Bents car park No 3 after a vehicle was discovered ablaze.

East Lothian Council has already confirmed that the car park, north of the village, is likely to be closed throughout tomorrow (Thursday).

A statement on the local authority’s social media said: “Due to an ongoing police incident, the car park at Longniddry Bents No 3 is currently closed and is expected to remain so through tomorrow (Thursday).”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called to the car park around 3.20pm amid reports of a car fire."

Road signs are currently blocking the entry to the car park.

It is not yet known if anyone has been injured.
