A NEW home will be created in a building once earmarked for a speakeasy-style bar.
The property, on Brewery Lane, has been used as an office but can now be turned into a two-bedroom home.
East Lothian Council’s planning department approved the proposals from OSC Ltd last week.
Two bedrooms will be created upstairs in the Belhaven property, with off-street parking also provided.
Plans were previously submitted by a different applicant to turn the building into a speakeasy bar called The Cat’s Pyjamas.
But they never found favour with the council, which highlighted the lack of parking spaces for such a venture.
Dunbar Community Council was “mainly in support” of the home application.
