A TRANENT resident has avoided a road ban after he admitted a charge of careless driving.
Tamas Galambos, of High Street, drove a vehicle without due care and attention and collided with another vehicle at Old Dalkeith Road in Edinburgh.
The crash saw the second vehicle then shunt forward and strike a third vehicle, causing injury to motorist Mary McKinnon.
The incident took place on November 30, 2019.
The 31-year-old was originally facing a dangerous driving charge of causing the crash by falling asleep at the wheel but the Crown agreed to the charge being reduced to one of careless driving.
Galambos pleaded guilty to the amended charge of careless driving during an appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Thursday.
Sheriff Wendy Sheehan fined Galambos a total of £520 for the offence and added seven points to the offfender’s driving licence.
Galambos admitted driving without due care and attention and colliding with a vehicle, causing the vehicle to collide with a third vehicle, causing damage to all three cars and causing injury to Ms McKinnon, at Old Dalkeith Road, Edinburgh, on November 30, 2019.
