More than 400 calls were made to the police from the Tranent and Elphinstone area in the month up to September 21.

Out of the 406 calls made, 47 crimes were recorded.

Out of the 47 recorded crimes, five were related to shoplifting, two were theft by housebreaking and a further two for theft.

One each of attempted theft by housebreaking, attempted opening of a locked premises and robbery.

Regarding violence and disorder, 10 assaults were recorded, seven incidents of threatening or abusive behaviour and one each of culpable and reckless conduct, domestic abuse and stalking. One crime was also recorded under the communications act.

Ten incidents of vandalism were recorded as were four miscellaneous offences.

No misuse of drug offences were recorded as were no road traffic offences.
