A GATHERING of scarecrows has won the hearts of villagers in Dirleton.
The village’s annual scarecrow trail and competition has seen 20 scarecrows pop up in a number of gardens.
The scarecrows were created under three categories: The Scarecrow That Made the Judges Smile the Most; Best Harvest Scarecrow; and Best TV or Film Character Scarecrow.
Winners were announced during the Dirleton Market on the Green last Sunday.
Anne, Amy and Jordi Kerr took victory in the Scarecrow That Made the Judges Smile the Most with their ‘Breakfast Crows’, while the Stirling family’s Harvest Crow took top prize in the Best Harvest Scarecrow category. Finally, The Hamer family were winners in the Best TV/Film Scarecrow for Tea Bob and Monty Don’t Crow.
Each of the winners received a £10 North Berwick High Street voucher.
A spokesperson for the event encouraged people to go along and see the creations, some of which are still on show.
They said: “Twenty scarecrows are currently on display in front gardens around the village, as well as on The Castle, at the Kirk Hall and around the village green, with scarecrow trail maps available from under the village noticeboard.”
