A Prestonpans band’s debut album features on an upcoming ‘Twitter listening party’ hosted by famous musician Tim Burgess, frontman of The Charlatans.

The Rah’s released their debut album When Does It Become Real? in May. The five-piece, whose members went to Preston Lodge High School, are inviting fans to their Twitter page (@therahsmusic) next Sunday, September 26, at 7pm where they will be tweeting while everyone plays their album at home.

In 2020, when live in-person gigs were paused, Tim Burgess brought music fans together by inviting bands and artists to host real-time album playbacks via Twitter – and he has continued his listening parties post-lockdown. Fans are invited to stream or play the album in real time on their own, while the musicians involved in the making of the music live tweet stories and anecdotes behind the songs.

The Rah’s began playing covers in The Dasher and Prestonpans Labour Club; now, they will take to the stage for their own UK tour next month.

To be chosen for a Tim Burgess Twitter listening party is a real coup for the band: Jack McLeod, lead singer and rhythm guitarist; Neale Gray (drums); Jordan McIntyre (guitar); Lee Brown (bass) and Jack Miller (keyboards and acoustic guitar).
