THUNDERSTORMS are forecast for throughout East Lothian tomorrow (Thursday).
The Met Office has published a yellow weather warning from 10am to 8pm warning that the weather could be torrential.
Heavy showers leading to the potential of flooding and transport disruption are being forecast.
As well as covering the whole county, the yellow weather warning also covers the rest of Scotland, Northern Ireland and almost all of England.
The Met Office suggest the following could happen:
- Flooding of homes and businesses could happen quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
- Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
- Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
- Some communities might become cut off if roads flood
- Power cuts might occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
