A TRANENT man who shouted abusive remarks at a woman has been placed on supervision.

Devlin McFarlane, of Muirpark Drive, behaved in a threatening or abusive manner towards the woman at an address on the town’s Lindores Drive.

The 21-year-old repeatedly shouted and swore during the incident, which took place on July 23.

McFarlane pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Monday.

Sheriff Adrian Fraser sentenced the offender to a 12-month supervision order for the social work department to monitor his behaviour.
