BENCHES were ripped off their platforms and thrown over a cliff edge in Dunbar over the weekend.

The two benches, white planks on top of concrete, were previously located at the town’s Promenade.

Both were vandalised with the wooden seats ripped off and thrown over a nearby cliff.

In a post on social media, Dunbar Community Council said: “East Lothian Council and the local police have been informed.

“Any information can be passed to the police via 101.”

The news has been met with outrage from residents, many of whom regularly used the benches.
