THERE was excitement at Dunbar Harbour this morning after a superyacht believed to have been rented out and used by Tom Cruise was spotted off the town.

The £33million yacht, called Triple Seven, has been seen Firth of Forth over the past couple of days.

The 59-year-old actor has been taking some time off from filming Mission Impossible 7 in Hertfordshire and is said to have used the same boat down south.

Excitement was high in Dunbar this morning after it was rumoured that the actor was going to be making a trip ashore.

A crowd of about 20 people were at the harbour, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Top Gun and Mission Impossible star.

A smaller boat did ferry some passengers from the yacht to Dunbar harbour and they quickly boarded a black people carrier-style vehicle with blacked-out windows but it is not thought that the film star was one of the passengers.

Their identity remains a mystery and it is unclear if Tom Cruise is aboard the superyacht.

About an hour after being berthed off Dunbar, the 68-metre luxury vessel left its spot off and was seen heading towards the Fife coast.

Built by German shipyard Nobiskrug in 2006, Triple Seven underwent a maintenance refit in 2016.

Featuring an in-house naval design, Newcruise were responsible for both her interiors and exteriors.

Triple Seven can host 12 guests within her six staterooms, cared for by a crew of 17. She is fully kitted-out with a waterslide, Jacuzzi, multiple alfresco dining areas and a lavish interior.

Its other features include an on board nightclub complete with lasers, a beach club equipped with gym, lounge and bar, a sky lounge cinema, has a large sun deck and an 'immense bath' carved from Portuguese marble.
