A GROUP helping to keep Dunbar litter free has received a boost from a town centre business.

Dunbar Against Litter has struck up a partnership with The Original Factory Shop (TOFS), with the collaboration aiming to raise awareness of the local good cause.

Founded by Romie Blair, Dunbar Against Litter is a group of people who would like to see the town as litter free as possible.

The volunteer group works with East Lothian Council, Zero Waste Dunbar and Viridor, as well as various businesses and individuals in Dunbar, to dispose of litter responsibly.

The volunteers pick up litter from Dunbar’s streets, beaches, countryside and roadside.

Colleagues at the TOFS store, on the town’s Countess Crescent, will raise money for Dunbar Against Litter and customers can make a donation in the charity box in store.

Donations will also be made to the store’s charity fund when a customer buys a carrier bag or swipes their TOFS club member card.

Over the course of the partnership, The Original Factory Shop will be running a wide range of fundraisers to support Dunbar Against Litter.

Caroline Cutt, store manager for The Original Factory Shop, said: “We’re really chuffed to bits to be working with Dunbar Against Litter and are so glad that our customers picked them as our community charity.

“They are a fantastic crowd and they do an amazing job at keeping the community litter-free.

“They’ve kept our car park and outside our store spotless too.”
