COSTA Coffee has opened its first drive-thru in East Lothian.

The global coffee chain, which already has a branch in Haddington’s Tesco store, opened the drive-thru at the town’s retail park earlier this week.

The coffee shop, on the town’s western edge, is part of the retail park which will include Aldi, a petrol station, Home Bargains and The Food Warehouse.

East Lothian Courier:

Costa previously confirmed 15 jobs would be created through the new restaurant.

The new coffee shop is the fourth Costa Coffee in East Lothian - with the others in Musselburgh, North Berwick and in Haddington's Tesco store - but the company's first drive-thru in the county.

It is the first business to open at the new retail park.

Meanwhile, dates for two other businesses there have been confirmed.

Aldi, Home Bargains and The Food Warehouse, as well as a petrol station, have all been confirmed as opening in the retail park at Gateside.

More than 40 jobs will be created at Home Bargains, which is due to open on October 16, with The Food Warehouse planning to open on August 17.

Aldi hopes to move from its existing store off Whittingehame Drive and open in Haddington Retail Park at the end of September.

No business has been announced as opening in the final unit on the site.
