A BID to ensure Dunbar is sparkling this festive season has received a cash boost of more than £6,000.
A community benefit fund from Community Windpower’s Aikengall II Community Windfarm will see £3,100 go to the winter lights scheme, and £3,125 allocated to the ongoing refurbishment of the Dunbar Corn Exchange, where the Christmas lights volunteers meet.
Pippa Swan, chairwoman of the town’s community council, said: “The Christmas lights and winter lights are a huge benefit for the town, adding valuable visitor numbers and interest.”
Diane Wood, community benefits director at Community Windpower, said: “This money is part of £300,000 of community benefit funding that Aikengall II provides to the local area each year.”
