WARNINGS have been issued to lorry drivers during a police operation.
Roads policing officers joined with the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) to carry out checks on the A1 near Dunbar on Tuesday.
In total, 20 heavy goods vehicles were stopped near Thistly Cross.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed that more checks would take place throughout the year.
They said: “Eight prohibitions were issued for serious mechanical defects, one conditional offer for no MOT, five warnings for minor construction and use defects, one warning for speeding, two warnings for insecure load and two warnings re insurance.”
