MUSIC acts have been booked and are ready to rock at a series of gigs later this year.

The Belhaven Sessions, to be held in The Strawberry Barn near Dunbar, will take place every fortnight from July 9 until November 26, and will feature bands from Edinburgh, East Lothian and further afield.

Stephen May, co-founder of production company Scorpion Events, which is organising the gigs, said: “As news about Covid is getting better every day and we have a plan about life getting back to normal in terms of events, we’re driven to carry on doing music events.

“The gigs will be in The Strawberry Barn, and we will have a capacity of 300. We’ll have three acts per session, with doors opening at 6.30pm and closing at 11pm – it’ll be a gig rather than a festival.”

Bands will include Moonlight Zoo, whose single Wild was a BBC One Scotland single of the week, and Edinburgh-based indie band Wrest, who have been endorsed by BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq.
