A BID for two new homes to be created in the back garden of a house in the centre of Tranent has been given the green light.
East Lothian Council’s planning department approved the plans for the homes to the rear of 50 Bridge Street, despite one public objection.
Concerns raised in the objection included that the two new houses would be out of keeping with the properties on neighbouring New Row and that the development would “spoil what is mainly a tree-lined side of the road”.
Drawings included with the application show a garage, accessed from New Row, with stairs leading to the first floor. The properties would have two bedrooms, as well as a living/dining area and kitchen.
