THE Scottish Ornithologists’ Club reopened its visitor centre and art gallery, with visitors able to head along.

Based in Aberlady, it has reopened with a new joint exhibition.

Until May 30, Thursdays to Sundays 10am to 4pm, visitors will be able to view pastel drawings by John Threlfall and Esther Tyson and ceramic sculptures by Simon Griffiths.

All the artists take their inspiration from closely watching animals in the wild.

For this latest exhibition, John and Esther focused on wildlife in the north-east of Scotland and the Cairngorms respectively, while Simon took his inspiration from the County Durham countryside.

Through many hours spent outdoors observing and sketching, all three aimed to capture wild animals in their environment.

The Scottish Ornithologists’ Club is a charity that promotes the study, protection and enjoyment of birds in Scotland.
