A TRANENT man has been ordered to stay away from his ex-partner after he caused her fear and alarm while attending at her home.

Daniel Curley, of Tranent’s Winton Grove, went to his former partner’s home in Gorebridge, Midlothian, in June 2019.

The 25-year-old repeatedly banged and kicked the front door of the property, and shouted and swore at the woman.

Curley also aimed abuse at the woman’s father during the incidents.

He also uttered threatening remarks and repeatedly made phone calls to the woman, despite knowing she did not want any contact with him.

Curley was arrested and charged with engaging in a course of conduct that caused the woman fear and alarm and stood trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last week.

Following two days of evidence, Sheriff Donald Corke found Curley guilty of the offence.

The sheriff imposed a non-harassment order banning Curley from approaching or contacting the woman and from entering the street in Gorebridge where she lives.

Curley was also fined £600, which is to be paid at a rate of £40 per month.

Curley was found guilty of causing the woman fear and alarm at her home between June 24 and 26, 2019.
