A LOCAL landmark has been the target of vandals for the second time in two months, prompting residents to call their behaviour “mindless”.
The “trig” point at the top of North Berwick Law was found at the weekend with various deep lines and what some people believed could be the initials WILK scratched into its metal surface.
The white post, used by Ordnance Survey surveyors as a reference point, was also targeted last month by vandals, who sprayed their tag on the structure.
The paint was removed by council workers.
Comments by local residents on social media included “Absolutely mindless vandalism. Must be proud of themselves, making such a contribution to the community”, and “That’s actually so mindless. Kids or not. It’s like vandalising your own home.”
