BUDDING film-makers are being given a chance to create their own Oscar-worthy masterpiece.
Battery Theatre Company is teaming up with The Ridge over the Easter holidays to challenge youngsters to make their own film.
People have lived and worked in Dunbar’s Backlands for more than 800 years.
Monks, shoemakers and butchers have all left artefacts behind, with film-makers aged eight to 16 challenged to tell their stories.
A spokesman for Battery Theatre Company encouraged people to take part in The Apprentice’s Tale.
The competition runs from today (Friday) until April 17.
The spokesman said: “You’ll write and perform your own scripts, create your own costumes and set, and be your own camera crew when you film the scripts you’ve written.
“The final film will premiere on the Battery Theatre Company and The Ridge Facebook pages.
“All you need is something to film with (a phone, tablet or iPad will work) and some imagination. You can be put into teams to make your film, so if there’s a friend you want to work with let us know in your email.”
