A CALL has been made for a mirror which helped drivers safely negotiate a corner, but has now gone missing, to be replaced.
Jim Graham, a member of Haddington and District Community Council, described the junction of the town’s Tynebank Road and Mill Wynd as “a dreadful corner”.
Previously, a mirror was in place on the outside of the bend to help people see if any vehicles were approaching from the opposite direction.
Mr Graham said: “The bad corner round by the care home on Tynebank Road and Mill Wynd, there used to be a mirror there that helped you round that corner. You cannot see anything coming. I just wondered who would be
the person to go to to get that re-instated.”
Councillor John McMillan, who also attended the community council meeting, noted that he did not live far from the corner but struggled to recall a mirror being in place.
However, he vowed to take up the issue with the local authority.
