A ‘PIPE PUSH’ beneath a picturesque East Lothian beach as part of a major offshore windfarm project is complete.

More than 50 wind turbines are to be built in the Outer Firth of Firth, about 30 kilometres off the coast of Dunbar, as part of the Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) Offshore Windfarm.

The onshore grid connection and substation for the windfarm will come in East Lothian.

The latest step of work saw the installation of 650 metres of plastic ducting underneath Thorntonloch Beach, to the south-east of Dunbar.

Onshore construction continues for NnG at various locations along the cable route which runs underground from the beach and into the nearby Lammermuir Hills, with the onshore grid connection coming at Crystal Rig Windfarm.
