TAYLOR Wimpey East Scotland has confirmed it has acquired land at St Clements Wells to build 235 new homes close to its Ravensheugh development in Wallyford.

It says the project will deliver a choice of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes to provide “a range of options” for first-time buyers and growing families.

The company will detail its plans for the development to East Lothian Council around April.

It will make an application for Approval of Matters Specified by Condition (AMSC), which will build on the outline design framework for the St Clements Well masterplan, integrating this proposed new housing with the existing development.

The St Clements Wells masterplan has delivered a new primary school and also planned are a new secondary school, local centre and community woodland, along with new foot and cycle connections to Wallyford and the local train station.

Following the completion of the first development of 69 homes, this proposed next phase of Ravensheugh will also form part of the “masterplan vision”.

Pauline Mills, land and planning director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “Interest in our development at Ravensheugh has been strong from homebuyers looking to take advantage of the great location and commutable routes to Edinburgh.

“Securing our future land will ensure that we can continue to play our role in the delivery of new homes as part of the overall masterplan vision that St Clements Wells will deliver.”
