POLICE and community wardens are to step up patrols at a popular walking route.
Complaints surrounding anti-social behaviour, littering, fly-tipping and dog fouling on the Haddington to Longniddry Railway Walk have been passed to East Lothian Council.
The local authority has responded by confirming that patrols on the four-mile route will be increased. A spokesperson for East Lothian Council encouraged people who spotted any anti-social behaviour to report it.
They said: “Those using this popular route are reminded of the need to respect others, the environment and to report any issues to the safer communities team on 01875 824307 or via the council’s website.
“Walkers, runners and cyclists are also reminded of the need to socially distance when using the route.”
