THREE residents of a Musselburgh care home have died following an outbreak of Covid-19.
East Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership confirmed the deaths at council-owned Eskgreen Care Home.
Visits to the home have been suspended.
A spokesperson for East Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership said: “We would like to share our condolences with people who have lost their loved one.
"The health of residents and staff is of paramount importance and we enforce stringent infection control measures in our homes at all times.
"We have had to suspend all visiting at Eskgreen for the time being, which we know is very hard for residents and families. However, it is an essential step in ensuring that the outbreak is brought under control as quickly as possible, as is our ongoing Covid-testing programme for staff.
"The staff at Eskgreen are working extremely hard just now with support from NHS Lothian to manage and contain this outbreak.
"We would respectfully ask for privacy for our residents, their families and our staff at this difficult time."
