A CALENDAR featuring photographs of firefighters from East Linton has sold out.

More than 200 copies of the calendar were sold to people from throughout the village and beyond.

The striking images, which capture some famous local landmarks including Preston Mill, which featured in the television drama Outlander, were taken throughout last year by local photographer Murray Thomson.

The crew thanked shops in East Linton which helped to sell the calendars for £10 each.

Some of the charities that will benefit from the fundraising project include The Fire Fighters Charity, East Lothian Foodbank and Lynton Day Centre Community Playgroup.

Retained firefighter Craig Guy, who helped co-ordinate the calendar, was delighted with its sell-out success.

He said: “We really pride ourselves on being part of the community and the calendar will raise funds for many local good causes that have faced a really challenging year.

“East Linton is a really picturesque place and the calendar captures some of the iconic older buildings in the area.

“We hope the images will help lift spirits and capture people’s imagination.”

The success of the calendars was also recognised by East Lothian’s MSP Iain Gray.

He told the Courier: “East Linton is one of many picturesque villages across East Lothian.

“Using images of the village for this fundraising calendar was a great idea by the local firefighters and I’m not surprised they proved to be so popular with local people.

“Charities and community groups need all the help they can get at this difficult time, so I congratulate the firefighters on their initiative and thank everyone who supported them by buying a calendar.”
