EAST Lothian is set to be battered with heavy rain tomorrow, and the likelihood of disruption has led to the Met Office issuing a yellow ‘be aware’ weather warning for the county.
Starting at midnight and running until noon on Wednesday, it covers the Lothians, south-west Scotland and the Scottish Borders.
Heavy rain and hill snow will bring the chance of flooding, damage to buildings, and disruption and delays on transport services.
The warning adds that there is a small chance of fast-flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life.
Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
The weather and subsequent floodwater could also cut off some communities due to flooded roads, with power cuts and a loss of other services also likely.
Persistent and heavy rain is to develop from tonight (Monday), with as much as 20-30 millimetres expected.
Those on higher ground could see as much as 30-50 millimetres.
Later tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday), rain will turn to snow over the hills, with as much as five-10 centimetres expected.
