A HAPPY Holidays poster has been launched by East Lothian Council to encourage residents to back local retailers.

The local authority announced its festive campaign to persuade people to support local shops.

The cheery poster is available for retailers to download and display in their shop windows.

Councillor John McMillan, council spokesperson for economic development, said: “Throughout the pandemic, we have seen many local businesses adapt and have a greater online presence, including new websites, online ordering facilities and new local delivery services.

“I would encourage all East Lothian residents to think about shopping locally as much as possible, particularly for their seasonal shopping.

“Whether it’s gifts, homeware, or the finest food for the Christmas dinner table, they will find the best of the best in East Lothian.”

The council launched the Happy Holidays poster as part of its Stay Safe, Support Local, Love East Lothian campaign

It is also providing blogs and Christmas present ideas on its Visit East Lothian website and promoting an East Lothian Gift Card which can be spent in a range of local shops, services and hospitality businesses.
