A MUCH-LOVED charity is asking local people to take part in its new challenge for the month of November, called Scottember 500.
The Walk With Scott Foundation is asking people to collectively walk 500 miles over the month of November as training for its Infinity Walk next year.
This year’s Walk With Scott event was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Those at the charity said that the challenge was not to raise money but was “purely for us all collectively to raise awareness of the importance of getting out into the fresh air, getting back to nature and keeping both physically and mentally healthy”.
Those who are taking part are asked to keep note of their miles and at the end of the month post them in a comment at walkwithscott foundation.co.uk/news/walk-500-miles-in-november
The miles will then all be counted and shared.
People are also encouraged to share pictures they have taken while racking up the miles.
The Walk With Scott Foundation was founded by the late Scott Glynn, who lived in Tranent, in the run-up to his 50th birthday.
The after-dinner speaker set himself a challenge to walk between the home grounds of each of East Lothian’s six rugby teams, later also playing a game at each club.
The charity raises money for and helps local charities and causes in East Lothian.
Scott, 56, sadly passed away on New Year’s Day this year.
