A RAINBOW Day will be held at Wallyford Primary School on Tuesday in memory of an “amazing” member of staff.
Stacey Johnstone, a behaviour support officer in the school’s Rainbow Room, died suddenly in October 2019 following a brain haemorrhage.
The first Rainbow Day was held last year and pupils are being asked to take part again this year by wearing rainbow patterns and bright colours to school.
Over the course of the week, the children will be painting memorial stones to place around a fruit tree which will be planted at the school.
This will form part of a larger gardening project which will be known as ‘Stacey’s Place’.
Stacey, a mum-of-two, served in the Rainbow Room since it was established in 2011, working alongside children who needed additional emotional and social support.
She passed away at her home in Musselburgh at the age of 39.
