A SECOND case of coronavirus has been confirmed in North Berwick High School.

News of the case was shared to parents on Saturday and comes just days after the first case was confirmed on Wednesday.

This second case is not linked to the previous one and is considered by the health protection team to be a single case say NHS Lothian.

Those who have been in direct contact with the case have been contacted and will be staying at home for 14 days.

Pupils who develop symptoms of Covid-19 are asked to not come to school, stay at home from when their symptoms started and get tested.

All other members of the household must stay at home and self-isolate until the test result is received and follow the advice that will be given.

If the test comes back positive, pupils should remain isolated for at least 10 days from the date symptoms started, and the rest of the household for 14 days.

If the test is negative, pupils, and the rest of the household, can come out of isolation and return to school if they are well enough to do so and have not had a fever for 48 hours.

Dunbar Grammar School is the only high school in East Lothian to not record a case of coronavirus.
