A YOUNG man was assaulted in Prestonpans on Friday evening (October 9) and police are appealing for a passer-by who intervened to get in touch.
The incident, described as a minor assault, happened on the town’s Rope Walk at about 10.30pm.
The young man, who is 14-years-old, was walking alone on Rope Walk near the Pennypit when he was approached by another man, who is known to him, and pulled to the ground and assaulted.
The young man received minor injuries.
A passer-by intervened and the young man made his way home.
Now police are appealing to the passer-by, who witnessed the assault, and asking they contact 101 quoting incident number 4189 of October 9.
