Tranent fireworks display is cancelled
AN ORGANISED fireworks display in Tranent will not go ahead this year.
East Lothian Council has asked communities to postpone events such as public fireworks displays and Christmas lights switch-ons amid concerns about social gatherings during Covid-19.
Tranent and Elphinstone Community Council has confirmed there will be no fireworks display.
A post on social media added: “The Christmas tree switch-on event in both Tranent and Elphinstone has been cancelled for 2020. The Christmas lights will still be up on the lampposts, and there will be a Christmas tree in both Tranent and Elphinstone.”
