A CARE home’s garden has been given a boost thanks to a kind-hearted gesture.
Lammermuir House Care Home, on Dunbar’s East Links Road, received garden furniture, plants, bird feeders and accessories worth more than £700 from members of The Lodge of Dunbar Castle, No 75.
The donation was made possible with a contribution from the Grand Lodge of Scotland Covid-19 Challenge Appeal and a discount on retail prices from Knox Garden Centre in Dunbar.
The goods were handed over to Emma Buglass, Lammermuir House administrator, and team co-ordinators Lee Falconer and Bev Lister, by Stuart Robertson and David Campbell, secretary and treasurer of The Lodge of Dunbar Castle.
Emma said: “We are in the process of renovating our garden to make a relaxing, open-air space for our residents and their families.
“This is particularly important during the Covid-19 pandemic, as we have been unable to take residents on their usual and regular visits to local beauty spots, garden centres and other attractions.
“This equipment will help in creating this alternative and welcoming outdoor environment.”
