PLANS for a snack bar and a decking area near Tranent’s Original Factory Shop have been given the green light.

No objections were received to Earle Fitzpatrick’s proposals, which are to the east of the business.

The planning application noted the site was across the road from residential properties, with the A199 acting as “a buffer”. The report noted: “However, to safeguard the residential amenity of those nearby neighbouring properties, it can reasonably and competently be made a condition of the grant of planning permission that the hours and days of operation of the proposed mobile snack bar be restricted to those applied for being 7am to 4pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays.”
