A WELL-KNOWN fundraiser has been recognised for his cash-boosting endeavours through a motion at Westminster.

Alex Brown has been holding carpet and vinyl clearance sales on Tranent’s Bridge Street through his business Ideal Flooring Solutions.

Among those benefiting are Tranent Belters and East Lothian Foodbank.

Cheques for £200 were presented to representatives from both of the charities last month.

Kenny MacAskill, MP for East Lothian, was delighted to recognise Mr Brown, who lives in Musselburgh, for his fundraising efforts through an Early Day Motion at Westminster.

It reads: “That this House applauds the fundraising efforts of Alex Brown from Musselburgh; recognises that through his business’s sale he has donated money to two Tranent charities, Tranent Belters and the East Lothian Foodbank; understands that Alex has been involved in charitable fundraising for much of his life; and encourages Alex in his intention to raise money for charities in East Lothian on a continuing basis.”
