A DRIVER has been arrested after failing a breath test in Haddington town centre on Monday evening.
Officers were patrolling the town and had their attention drawn to a vehicle parked near Haddington’s skate park, on Whittingehame Drive.
The driver then failed a roadside breath test and was arrested.
He was cautioned and charged with the relevant road traffic legislation.
The arrest comes as Police Scotland starts its Summer Drink/Drug Drive Campaign, which runs until next Sunday (July 12).
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “As traffic levels increase with the easing of coronavirus restrictions, the campaign provides an opportunity to renew our focus on reducing road casualties by increasing awareness of the risks associated with drink/drug driving.”
