AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after bicycles were stolen from Musselburgh and Tranent.

Police have been carrying out proactive patrols in residential areas across the county in response to “a small number” of thefts.

A bicycle has been being stolen in Musselburgh and another stolen in Tranent.

Anyone with information about the thefts, or who saw anything suspicious, should contact Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 0994 of June 4.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “In light of this, we are reminding the public to ensure that their homes, garages and outbuildings are properly secured, with valuable items stored safely and securely, where they cannot be seen.”
